It’s almost evening time and you’ve had a hard day. You are looking forward to dinner and a moment to just wind down. Take out the time to make a hot cup of tea! Recline yourself in your BEST seat! Oh and don’t forget your BIBLE! There are some things that God wants to reveal to you!
I think a lot about the Word of God, prayer, and fasting. The bible says according to Matthew 4:4: “….., It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Now that is powerful in and of itself! We look to food or the world to gratify, but all we truly need is the Word of God. You see, the Word of God is bread and water. All we have to do is partake of all that it has so that we will live. John 11:26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” WE MUST BELIEVE THIS! The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He represents Heaven and Earth because He was man and God. This is why He was the perfect sacrifice to atone the sins of humanity. When we lift Him up above our personal interests, circumstances, and offenses, we as partakers invite Him in to invade our deepest areas of affliction. You wanted to curse that guy out on the job for taking your promotion or that vehicle that side swiped you on your way home from the job! You need the Word of God to revive you again, and to wash you clean from the insults of life. Isn’t that amazing? The Word of God can do all these things! Tired of sickness, poverty, depression, pain, and cycles of defeat? THE ANSWER IS JESUS! I hear the old mothers say, “BABY, ALL YOU NEED IS KING JESUS”! Now that may sound cliché to those that have heard it so many times without revelation of what that truly means. You see, religion and tradition has made us so numb to the joy of our salvation that gives us power, strength, and victory over the vices of the enemy! The truth is that joy is an eternal bliss that is never ending because the Word of God NEVER ENDS. It is perpetual and continuous, never ending or changing. The Word of God should revolve around your day as IT REVOLVES AROUND THE WORLD. All things must under subjection to the Word of God! You can command everything to come into alignment with the Word of God! So that depression…. is OVER, MY FRIENDS! The joy that we have as saints is supernatural, but your thoughts will cause you to miss that. We call on the name of Jesus because it sounds holy, but we take the power from it when we fail to remove our prideful armour in His presence. Can those who come before Him in Spirit and in truth come before Him in doubt? God can change what seems to be humanly impossible. Our doubt is our pride, but we must take off doubt and pride, and put on FAITH as we read the Word of God!
I had an awesome time studying and teaching about the spirit of pride. Job 41:15 “His scales are his pride shut up together as with a close seal”. This scripture is talking about the Spirit of Leviathan, “a king over all the children of pride”. As crazy as it sounds, we as humans have scales. These scales are so tight that it is absolutely hard for the Spirit of God to breath into us after we’ve been beaten to death by life. The scales we have represent the armour that we have put in the places of pain. Our pride prevents us from allowing Christ to penetrate those areas of offense. As a result, we walk around scaly and bumpy, rubbing up against others who are innocent in most matters. We live life abrasively and inhumane, all while dissociating from the human condition. The saying, “She rubs me the wrong way” stands correct. Sometimes we give off a hardened embrace. The WORD OF GOD can heal that! You do not have to be overtaken by the rejection that was experience on the job, neither do you have to walk in offense because of the crazy drivers that refuse to stay in their lane! THE WORD CAN HUG ON YOU and make you well! Yes, let it hug you!
If we would just take the walls down and allow the Holy Spirit to breath into us, we can come alive again. Hope is not lost. You can have joy. You can have peace. You can have life! Let us experience the sweetness of His Word! The sweet fragrance of His presence! The sweet touch of His hand in that wounded place! Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him”. In order to experience this touch, we must open up our hearts while trusting in the Word of God! Lay down the frustrations! Put down the offense! Song of Solomon 1:2 says, “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine”. All you need is a spiritual detox as you experience the effects of clean eating with the Word of God! It’s Good For the SOUL!

Supporting Scriptures (KJV)
Psalm 63:8 – My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 7:37-38 – In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 4:14 -But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life
John 6:54– Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Proverbs 17:22– A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Recall a moment in your life when you asked for someone’s forgiveness, but they refused to free you of the offense. Do you remember feeling offended, hurt, frustrated, and much worse, REJECTED? Around that time, did you always feel like everyone was watching you and trying to target that specific area of your life that seemed irreconcilable? Perhaps it even made you paranoid! It was almost like people were waiting for you to commit the offense all over again because everything about you reminded them of what happened back in the day. You just couldn’t seem to move beyond your sour moment! It’s almost like everything you put your hands to after that time was hindered by where you failed! YOU WERE AFRAID TO OFFEND AGAIN! This is all condemnation. Here is the real deal! God forgave all of us to remove the trauma of rejection. Yes! Rejection can be traumatic, depending on where it comes from and how it targets our lives. Unforgiveness says, “I REJECT YOU COMPLETELY, and nothing that comes from you after this point is worthy of my acceptance. You have been discredited, and now it is too late!”
We should be joyous that God is not like us. Why? Because unforgiveness is a ruthless spirit! If I know anything worse than a machete, it is the cruel arsenal of UNFORGIVENESS! Whether or not we like to admit it, our unforgiving, unrelenting, and broken hearts carry a hidden resolve of what we feel should happen to a person. We want to be the one who gives the final verdict! I believe no one is exempt when I say we’ve held our offenders captive to our own depraved desires instead of God’s will. This is called a spirit of domination and control. We want our offender to suffer, whether it be withholding love and affection from the person, giving them the cold shoulder, or just flat out telling them, “I HOPE YOU SUFFER!”:-) We love to hold people in contempt because inwardly we are crying out for vindication. If we can control that person and their outcome then we feel soothed, satisfied, and above all things POWERFUL! Yes, we all want the power!… but in essence, unforgiveness carries the hidden motives of witchcraft as it projects ones desired imprisonment upon the offender. It negates the compassion that we should have for others. If it wasn’t for spiritual amnesia, many of us would quickly recall our past struggles when we were being held captive to lust, pornography, greed, lying, cheating, and drinking. You name it! We were doing it!
Matthew chapter 18 talks about the merciless servant who was forgiven by his lord but then arrogantly refused to forgive someone who was indebted to him. The servant became displeasing to his lord because he did not bestow mercy upon his own servants. Can you just imagine having to forgive someone who took all your money, stole your car, and then eventually brought ruin to your entire home. We laugh at our response behind the travesty, but the truth still speaks: “WE MUST FORGIVE THEM!” We do this religious thing as well —judging another mans sin as being greater than our own. According to Acts 10:34″……God is not a respecter of persons” -AND- Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…….”. The expense of Christ’s death was too awesome of a price for us to continually hold one another in contempt.
“Oh, I forgive, but I will never forget what you did to me,” only says that I want to hold on to your sin so that I can use it against you at the opportune time. I can use it as POWER to control you. Isn’t that something? Does not the devil use the habits of our sin nature to control us???? “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?…” (Jeremiah 17:9). God forgives and He forgets from the moment He throws our sins into the sea of forgetfulness. If God can humble himself and forgive us for His Sons sake, then who are we not to forgive? Are we greater than God? The lustful desire to maintain control will separate you from the protection of a loving God. “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). Iniquities are the hidden sins of the heart that manifests outwardly. For one that is bitter and unforgiving, like in Isaiah 59:2, your iniquities have separated you from God, and as a result, you are subject to the oppression of tormenting spirits.
Matthew 18:34-35 says:
“34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”
It is time for us to be released from our prisons of embitterment! Let us pay off that unforgiving debt by making a love transaction to Jesus Christ. If you forward the offense, burden, emotional affliction, as well as the offender into the hands of Jesus, all things will be made fruitful for you! The offender might even be convicted by the Holy Ghost into a humbled place of repentance and radical deliverance. Let Jesus bring Kingdom resolve as He is the God of justice and vindication.
HEU: “Harboring unforgiveness says that I am not worthy to receive what’s on the other side of this offense. Let It Go! God has so much in store for you!”
Supporting Scriptures (KJV)
Ephesians 4:32– And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Mark 11:25- And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 6:15 – But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Psalm 103:10 – He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded is according to our iniquities.
Isaiah 1:18 -Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
Luke 7:47-48 “…Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” (Jesus speaking to the accusers and the woman caught in adultery)
What truly qualifies us for Godly service? Of course we have our own distinctions that provide answers for those who are broken, but what if we are not always accepted? What if we have all the answers but are unwanted, cast out, thrown to the side, betrayed, or perhaps set up? Here is the hardcore truth. “YOU ARE ACTUALLY THE BEST THING THAT WALKED ON THE SCENE!” I bet you didn’t realize that did you? This is a bold statement. I know!….but it is okay to embrace who you are. That does not mean you are arrogant. It just means that you know THE GREATER ONE lives on the inside of you and His royal mysteries are yours to give. It’s not about where you come from or what you look like, but it is about WHO SENT YOU! Your love and obedience to God is what qualified you! What you did in secret, God wants to promote openly! God wants you to reap the harvest of your tears! YOUR REJECTION WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A CURSE, BUT A BLESSING! You had to be rejected so that you would be humbled. You had to be set to the side so He could preserve your gift!
So many times we refuse to speak or give a word of encouragement to people who truly need it because we feel irrelevant. Rejection makes us feel this way, but what actually constitutes relevancy? I believe our relevance has everything to do with our assignment in its right timing and chosen season! YOU HAVE STRUGGLED MUCH, TOILED MUCH, SCREAMED MUCH, BEEN HUMBLED MUCH, AND RESTORED MUCH! Do not allow the pain of the previous season to hamper the beauty of your reveal! He said that He would give us BEAUTY FOR ASHES! Notice that when you are about to come upon a season of great reveal, the enemy will do everything in his power to attack you in the area of relevance. Notice the inferiority complex intensifying and the temptations gripping your thoughts to provoke you to give up on what God said concerning your purpose. You may even attempt to sabotage your green light season with a, “NO…IT IS NOT MY TIME YET!” The truth is that if you are in the right place, your timing is always NOW! INSTANT IN SEASON! Open up your mouth and declare the GOOD NEWS! Someone needs it! They were just waiting on the right vessel, with the proper authority, and the precise language to walk them into freedom! Today is the day to be liberated from yourself. No longer can YOU hold you back, but now you must let the lion out of the gate! Lions are bold! Lions are courageous, and people are intimidated by lions. THE RIGHTEOUS ARE AS BOLD AS A LION! (Proverbs 28:1). You have been faithful over much and a steward of His mysteries. Now be the solution that the Earth needs.
When the timing is right, YOU HAVE HEAVEN AT YOUR BECK AND CALL!
GOD IS WAITING ON YOU!
HEU: Let Heaven & Earth Unite!
Isaiah 53 (KJV)
53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I woke up this morning with a ton of thoughts running through my mind. The anxiety about pursuing the day was overwhelming. I was also tempted to stay in the bed with covers over my face, hoping that I wouldn’t be found. I guess I almost became a Jonah for a second. “I’m going to run away so that God can’t find me”. Crazy Right!? I could have sworn the man up stairs was omnipresent! Well here it is morning, and I have some challenges before me. How do I pursue the day with how I think and feel? Obscurity and uncertainty seem to be beating me up along my bedside. My religious self could gather the right words to say in this particular moment, but what if I don’t feel like what I say? I’m sure that many of you have been here before.
Well anyway, I pick up my tablet and begin to write. The words that come to my spirit are, “BE BRAVE”. Okay, be brave. Now what??? …….(silence)………and the words of Joshua 1:9 come to me. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” My spirit man was revived as I realized that I did not have to seize this day on my own. I could not believe my confidence in God had become so non-existent. The voices of rejection, inferiority, fear, apprehension, and past disappointments to failures shaped my beliefs about who and whose I was. All of a sudden I began to say, ” WAIT A MINUTE! I’m not in this by myself”. “I’m not alone and certainly not an orphan.” “The truth is, I have a Father in Heaven that is with me wherever I go and guides my every step, that is if I receive His commandment to walk in courage. He will only lead me to good things”.
But how do I walk into something with courage when fear is still breathing down my back? After all, I’m walking in the unknown. I could die, fail, – OR – I could live and actually come out of this thing more than a conqueror.
“Courage is not the absence of fear but the judgement that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all. For now you are traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be.” –Meg Cabot
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You.” -Psalms 56:3 (AMP)
I believe the key to success and not becoming stuck is to push beyond the thing that causes us to stumble, such as insecurity, inferiority, low self-esteem, fear, anxiety, or anything else that inserts its “no” where our “yes” should be. It is important to identify our weaknesses and offenses so that we can judge its relevance to our desired outcome. If we are normal then we would only want the best outcome for ourselves and others. So why not lay aside every weight and opposition that so easily besets us for the joy or greater glory that is set before us? I remember spending seasons of my life in prayer, doing spiritual warfare obssessively against the spirit of fear. Yes, God does call us to pray without ceasing, but He also requires a turning away from the thing that so easily besets us. Better yet, He requires a change in mindset. YOUR MIND MUST CHANGE! Insanity will never allow us to move forward! We must change!
Fear will always tempt us whenever we make conscious decisions to walk in the unknown. The path of the unknown is designed to show us our weaknesses and insecurities so that through each journey, our love is perfected more and more in Christ Jesus – “…..the one who is able to keep us from stumbling”. HALLELUJAH!!! As we continue to move forward in our earthly assignments, all obstacles will be removed because now our faith is in God’s supernatural ability to carry us along the way. When we lay down our pride and say, “God, I have no way of accomplishing this on my own. My life has made me a controlling person that is full of fear and distrust, but I know Lord that you are the God that makes all things beautiful in its timing”, we will then experience God’s supernatural ability (grace) to carry us along the way.
Love God more than the threat in front of you, this includes: people, places, things, ideas and all things Satan!!! This does not mean that fear will not rear its ugly head, trying to tempt you into a stagnate or regressive place. It just means that you have to acknowledge and trust in the one that is greater than the terror before you.
All you have to do is BE BRAVE!
HEU: “Dare to believe”
Romans 15:13 – New the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Psalm 9:10 – And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Mark 12:30 – And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
The grim and fiery trials we encounter serve as humbling moments for us to acknowledge the supremacy of our God! When we are abandoned, neglected, offended, or misused we tend to key in on the failures of our fellow neighbor rather than posturing our hearts in a position of unconditional love and compassion for the common frailties we all posses. For many who carousel through life, we sometimes tend to forget where our help truly comes from. As our lack of security and trust in the Lord builds in our person, we fall prey to the spirit of control that says, “My way is better than Gods way”. “I am my own God, and my ambition will drive my destiny!” If you’ve ever been here before, then you know this type of narcissistic thinking yields grevious results. Like some of the great kings in the Earth: Nebuchadnezzar’s and his statue, David’s audultrous encounter with Bathsheeba, and Solomon’s lust for women in all of his glory, all three found themselves fallen and reminded of their human limitations. “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).
I believe God’s plans are profoundly creative when we choose to exalt this earthly realm above His Kingdom. As a matter of fact, I believe God gets a crack out of displaying His power when man attempts to conspire around His purposes. “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision” (Psalm 2:4). Candidly speaking, if God can shut down an entire nation just to apprehend Israel, what makes us think that He can’t do the same for us? After all, He is God! He can do whatever He desires to accomplish His purposes in the Earth. Sometimes we should just sit back and laugh at ourselves for being shocked when we already know that God is never shocked! It’s not always Satan who should get the blame for our human failures. Instead we should look in the mirror and ask ourselves when, where, and how did we give Satan PERMISSION or access into our lives.
Why is everything around me falling apart?
Colossians 2:9-10 says “For in Him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:” This scripture identifies Jesus as having the infinite nature and limitless power of God. This also signifies that Christ (the Word) is the head and origin of all things. “In the beginning was the Word……..(John 1:1)”, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (psalm 24:1). The Earth and everything in it must respond to the Word of God because it was the Word that formed it. He works all things after the counsel of His own will! So the question for today is: Are you in alignment with Christ or are you just flying by the seat of your pants? Have you made Christ your foundation or has presumption been your slave master? If it has, I guarantee you are working beyond your own human limitations and without any real grace for what you have set out to accomplish here on Earth. An apple tree that is graced to produce apples cannot yield oranges! Selah!
We must depend on God for everything. He is our comforter and the source of our strength. He is the one who gives us the power to accomplish all things. Without Him we could do nothing. The bible defines God as love, and if we are secure in His ability to lead and perfect us then we have been made perfect in His love. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). I wrote a blog on HEU some time ago entitled, “Love: The Missing Link!” It described love as the supernatural adhesive that bonds us together, and because the God we serve is love (1 John 4:8), He empowers our faith for creative miracles, such as healing the sick or raising the dead. As predestined sons and daughters, we were given God’s love to do extraordinary things through the transference of His Spirit after we accepted His Son as our Lord and savior. Agape love, which is of God, is the love that carried Christ in His earthly assignment and is the same love we posses when we give God complete control over our lives.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). We must intentionally leave our burdens with the Lord without having a thought of taking them back up. During our personal prayer times, we must never forget to yield for His instruction. Without God’s instruction, the spirits of fear and anxiety drive us into presumptuous behavior that demonically impacts our earthly assignments. Have faith and security in His Word that when we pray, THINGS CHANGE! For the school teacher who lost her job, for the man who lost his wife, for the Hollywood celebrity who lost their fame, and for the Pastor who suffered betrayal and a church split, be reminded that your security does not stand in the approval of man. After Christ did the work, he moved out of the way of man to find security and solace in the Father. The bible says it was because He knew what was in man (John 2:24). Now don’t get me wrong, Jesus loved man; but He also understood the human frailties that we all possess, which was why He decided to show His agape love by becoming a savior for us.
The danger for humanity lies in not knowing the way to security. Jesus said, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture” (John 10:9). The danger in building a life without Christ is that we bear the fruit of confusion, and our tower made with brick and weak mortar abruptly comes to an end. Trust that God will give you the proper tools and strategies to build.
Let’s allow Jesus Christ (the Word) to be our point of origination and access. If you do not know Jesus Christ and would like to accept Him as your Lord and Savior, today is your day to walk in freedom! No more depression and trying to invent ways to measure up! Your way has made you suicidal because you were never meant to carry your burdens. Jesus already carried your burdens on the cross. All you have to do is give Him your life! “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation” (Psalm 9:16). Maybe you have already accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, but the trials of life have diminished your fire. Let today be the day you recommit your trust in Him. “….For I will hasten my word to perform it” (Jeremiah 1:12). God’s Word is still with you! Trust Him, and walk securely in the promise!
HEU: “Your peace is in the Son.”
Supporting Scriptures (KJV)
Romans 10:9 -That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

Galatians 5:6- For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Luke 21:33- Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Hebrews 12:15 [KJV] Looking diligently lest any man fail the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble, and thereby many be defiled.
Wildfires! I almost want to rate them as natural disasters! From far away they look pretty eventful, but nothing compares to what is witnessed up close and personal. I mean of course no one wants to experience a wildfire at a close proximity! If you’ve ever researched the events that take place during a wildfire, you would find that everything is consumed in a violent fiery rage. Trees, houses, grass, and plant life all act as fueling agents that ignite the speed of its path. Flying ember triggers an even greater host of complications as they move around as mini sparks, creating separate fires near the already deadly take over! Bitterness works in a similar fashion where it begins as an unresolved offense or in the case of a wildfire, it works as flying ember. Outbreak after outbreak! Riot after riot! Shots fired, DISASTER, and war casualties taken away in body bags! Like a wildfire, if you are in its destructive path, your best bet is to find a safe place to hide because you too may be consumed by its deadly gall!
As the spirit of offense gives life to voices and images replaying in the mind, bitterness plows through a person’s spiritual armour to take residence in their heart. This root of bitterness now serves as a strongman that gives life to the iniquity of unforgiveness, resentment, retaliation, anger and wrath, violence, and ultimately murder. This is why it is so important to live according to Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life.” Your heart is a well of everything concerning your existence. This well will either spring up peace and reconciliation or unresolved issues. Just listen to a person who you speak with on a daily basis. If they are bitter, you will hear them bring up repetitive scenarios. They will then apply those negative instances to current and future situations because there has been no reconciliation. Their vision is distorted, all because they see and speak out of a well of bitterness. These are actually individuals who suffer with deep depression because they are never able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. God may even speak a word to them through a prophet telling them that their blessing is on the way, but because bitterness is a spirit unto death, you find these individuals having much apprehension, regression, and set back in the earthly realm. They cannot experience prosperity because the spirit of bitterness has eaten away at their soul (3 John 1:2). Instead of receiving the blessings of God, they reap a harvest of curses; and for someone like Simon the Sorcerer, they are driven to use illegitimate means to create a life that is prosperous.
“But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”
Bitterness is designed to distort our perception of God. We know that His name is “Faithful and True”, but because the gall of bitterness always carries an emotion of constant vexation, one is unable to see God for who He truly is. Let’s consider a pastor who has experienced great loss and as a result walks through life grumpy, cold, and demeaning. Instead of living a life full of love and compassion for others, he is now selfish, greedy, and heartless. “If I am hurting and God still hasn’t taken my pain away, why should I care if His people are hurting?” As a result of him being a bond servant to the iniquity of bitterness, the sins of envy, sabotage, and murder have consumed him, and now he is incapable of walking in his purpose as a shepherd. Forsaken members of the church are now offended, and the root of bitterness has spanned from the pulpit, to the pews, to the homes, to jobs, and throughout the world. Where his church was assigned to be a vehicle to inflict change in the Earth by ministering forgiveness and reconciliation, it has become destructive in its attempt to save lost souls. Where sinners were to be drawn by love, they were poisoned by venom. The power of healing and deliverance should flow from our churches, not bitterness unto death and fruitlessness.
I remember hearing quotes like, “she always seems to say things that get to the marrow of my bones” or “”Mrs.______ died of a broken heart.” I never truly understood this until I saw people who were bitter being afflicted with heart conditions, bone disease, cancers, and other life threatening illnesses. Proverbs 17:22- “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”. After doing a minor study on osteology, I found that blood cells are developed and produced in the bone marrow. The enemy takes great pleasure in attacking this area because if effected, can cripple our physical movement and our ability to self-immune. Bones are designed to cycle out every seven years, which means that if we have healthy marrow we should be able to produce a new set of bones every seven years! I believe sin is the reason behind this crippling effect. “The wages of sin is death”, but I believe in the regeneration through the blood of Jesus that will cut through the bone and into the marrow as a powerful healing agent! The blood of Jesus is a cure for the incurable! Yes, with His help you will run through a troop and leap over a wall. Only the healing power of God can make dry bones live again! HALLELUJAH!!!
The cure for bitterness is a merry heart. “Merry” is another word for joy. This is the joy we receive in our salvation through Christ Jesus. Jesus is the great reconciler of the world unto God through the forgiveness of sins (2 Corinthians 5:19)! With Jesus we no longer have to suffer with bitterness. We can be totally free in His name. Recognize that reconciliation is everything. It destroys the wall of separation between families, churches, and friendships and allows the power of God to enter with miracles of healing, mending, and peace. Because we have been forgiven and reconciled to God, we must give others the chance to receive the same. God saw a broken world that needed mending and decided to send His Son as the sacrificial lamb to stand in the gap between us and Himself. In spite of our wrong doings, He laid his life down as one who beaten, torn, and afflicted for the shedding of blood. Hebrews 9:22- And almost all things all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood is no remission. The blood of Jesus reconciles, redeems, purifies, heals, protects, and restores! The bible names Him the “Prince of Peace!” You can have peace on Earth! “The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). AMEN!
