Don’t Base Your Worth on Their Approval!

The title of this blog is very straight forward and intentional. Know that we spend years looking for cues and references to be who God has called us to be. We rehearse a false way of being, molding and shaping ourselves into something that people want us to be in order to make them feel comfortable. People who live in lies are never truly comfortable! Have you ever tried to keep up with a lie? IT’S STRESSFUL! As a matter of fact, releasing truth to an image driven society can sometimes put us in position for possible rejection. We as Kingdom believers have been placed in these positions to disrupt livelihoods! People will kill over their livelihoods because it is an output of their belief system and some people have accepted lies as a way of life. How they operate in business or make money to feed their families might be an output of the lies they have accepted. We are counted as sheep sent to the slaughter. OUR LIVES ARE NOT OUR OWN! If they rejected Jesus, how much more will they reject us? Related image

Kingdom assignments can be scary because it requires not only your passion, but faith and longsuffering. We try to figure out ways to hide our light under a bushel in hopes that no one sees us. Why is that? Well, we hate rejection. Everyone has that basic need for acceptance and love because God designed us to be that way.  When we perform for the applause or we base our worthiness on mans response to what we birth through our identities, we become unhealthy and ungodly. When we face rejection, we naturally feel offended because unapproval has us to believe that our entire existence has been cut off from society. We feel inadequate, irrelevant, and horribly insecure. As a result, fear rises in us as we anxiously contemplate our next possible trial of rejection. From there we are slaves to paranoia, suspicion, and distrust! We become creatures yoked to the demon of control as we allow people to have power over our emotions and the way we feel about ourselves. We also become controlling when we choose to alter who we are in order to be accepted. We would rather hide our true selves in the midst of people, like sitting in the back of the classroom or not speaking up when injustice is present because we fear the possible rejection that comes with it.

Persecution is a big one!  This could mean experiencing pain through becoming slandered and betrayed. Persecution may even result in losing the love and acceptance of family and friends. It could even mean losing your life! As harsh as it may seem, we should not feel this way. I remember trying my hardest to alter myself for mans approval and guess what? I WAS STILL REJECTED! The same demons that came after me when I was obedient to God and being who He designed me to be were the same demons that ran after me when I was faking the funk! Look at there! These demons know exactly what you are called to be. The question is: Do You???  Me not being who I was gave me no authority in the midst of adversity because I allowed demon powers to back me into a corner of fear. Be the light! Be the standard! Walk in the authority of God!

So the next time you walk into a room feeling like the most insignificant, small, and inferior being that ever walked the planet….THINK AGAIN! Uncertainty, insecurity, shame, fear, and rejection must die in the Kingdom! Being exactly who God created you to be gives life to your purpose. A slave master without slaves is powerless and becomes a slave to himself. You in and of yourself are FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! YOU ARE MIGHTY AND CHOSEN OF GOD! How will we ever fulfill the call of God on our lives and win souls if we fear the response of people. You are the key! You are the answer! Don’t wait on their approval!

Our Greatest Fear

“it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us”

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.”
